catch the falling star on high
twists around the sacred sighs
that whisper out your name
can you hear me in the silence of unspoken words?
velvet night wraps around me
tightly clutching all my breath
a drop of dew upon your brow
downcast eyes pierce through my shadow
in want of foundation beneath
i stand in all of yesterday's sorrow
can you paint me in your dreams?
washed away by the sunrise tide
I am new again or am I lost at sea?
consider the small of my back
your simple touch owns my skin as
a babe arising beyond the horizon
stretches out to fingertips that
glance the stillness of your being
patience deep within your soul
kisses the furrowed conscience of my heart
who can quench this somber room?
traps me in and traps out you
skips along fears great and tears untold
you trapped me into you

Reminiscing
It's either a chuckle under your breath, or maybe your eyes furrow like mine
in that moment, in that pause. In that moment the world stands still.
That moment, that pause - it cuts deep into my lungs.
The uncertainty of decision whirls around me.
Can you whirlwind me through the stillness?
Just for a second my breath is quiet - its fog frozen as it empties from my lips.
I breathe, and then I realize the world that surrounds me is still moving.
in that moment, in that pause. In that moment the world stands still.
That moment, that pause - it cuts deep into my lungs.
The uncertainty of decision whirls around me.
Can you whirlwind me through the stillness?
Just for a second my breath is quiet - its fog frozen as it empties from my lips.
